Inktober Day 10: Lucky Clover
First time ever drawing a Vespa and it wasn’t too bad. It’s inking it with a brush that almost killed me. Not my best inking job but it’s ok.

Inktober Day 6: Morning Mood-Swings
I started out drawing something completely different. I think it’s kind of funny. Anyway, seems like something you’d see in a fashion magazine :P

Inktober Day 7: Last Arrow
Since her creation, I have loved drawings her hair so incredibly much. But I barely ever get to draw her. So I figured why not? :) Artemis goddess of the moon and total badass. Outfit inspired by Girls Generation and others.

From my art blog :)

if you dont have me on facebook you are probably not missing out on any posts but the comment section is important too lmao

I went to the Renaissance faire dressed as a warrior.  I had a real sword with me, too.  I was standing (in character) next to a sword-fighting ring, where kids of all ages got the chance to pick up a sword and challenge the champion.  Some woman walks by, with her little girl.  The girl starts walking towards the ring, saying she wants to fight.  But the mom pulled her away hella sharply, and was like, “That’s for boys.”  You don’t want to be a BOY, do you?”    And the girl looked around and saw me.  I think she thought I was a boy; I had my hair in a ponytail, and was wearing a hood.  So she comes up to me and asks me, “Do you think girls can be fighters, too?”  And her mom looks like she’s silently gloating.  Like she thinks I’m going to say no.  So I take off my hood, untie my hair so that it flows freely, and kneel before her.  And I’m like, “Milady, anyone can be a fighter.”  I swear, the look on that mother’s face made my day.

When I used to practice Kung fu a few years back, my group did a presentation at a school (middle school I think) and although there were two or three girls in our group, some kids couldn’t believe there were girls fighting. So at the end of the presentation, two young girls came up to us and asked if we (the girls) were boys too. It was so weird and I remember thinking how dumb these girls were. Never-mind that they were young girls (probably 8 or 9). We weren’t wearing makeup or anything but it was clear we were girls. Now thinking back I just can’t help but think that THAT is what those stereotypes do. You go against your better judgment as a person because everyone said something like that was impossible. If your mother tells you that girls don’t do martial arts, then for a long time you will blind yourself to the obvious because you trust that adult so much. That’s how much you will hurt your kids if you deny them something as simple as a doll.
